I noticed a bicyclist
in the wallpaper
Where is he going
and where did he come from
I stared down
the hooded reaper
in the curtains
pale as a ghost
I listened to the clacking gears
of the mechanical owl
out my window
He automatically whoo'd
in protest of my vacuuming
the carpeted ceiling
I kneel on the ceiling
and think about
the bicyclist, where he is going
the reaper, pale as a ghost
the owl, automatically protesting
I realize that I need a new vacuum.
