Replete, Obsolete

I have become replete and obsolete
Loss and love
Collide with the hemoglobin in my blood
The hemoglobin that won’t carry air
To my lungs
To my lungs that fill as I gasp when
I become replete and obsolete
Concerned with the cacophony
The embraces, embers
Of that time I said I love you
Ashes of the time when
I was replete
But all that remains
is obsolete
