What If You Were A Bird?

What if you were a bird, my dear?
What would happen then?
Would you decide to fly off one day
never to return again?
Would we all hurt our necks
looking up at you to say goodbye?
Would the only thing we see
be your wings fluttering impatiently against the sky?
Or if you were a bird,
perhaps you would choose to stay.
But why would you
if you had the chance to fly away?
