"It does not do to dwell on dream and forget to live" - Albus Dumbledore

Since the day you were born I've know you
Watched you as you've slowly grown
I've always been there to hold you
Even if you haven't known

I was there for your first step
Watched as you rode your first bike
Sent you off to your first day of school
And listened as you talked about the kids you didn't like

I heard about your first kiss
And all the boyfriends after that
I watched as you went off on dates
Finally finding your true love matt

Then you finally graduated
You're starting college in the Fall
That is when you'll leave me
But I hope that you'll remember to call

I wrote this poem as a personification of a house as it watches the child who has lived in it all her life grow up.
