Watercolor World

I had thought that the weather loved me

The bright sun would shine on my freckled face

and I smiled.

But, although I knew this could happen,

storm clouds began to arouse

and I became quite frightened

I cried. I howled.

Soon the weather smoothed out its wrinkles,

and everything was calm again.

But, not the same warm, affectionate calm;

Freezing quiet.

The weather's heart became cold,

and its love for me was lost.

It rained. It poured.

I was a mess.

But as I thought in bed

as the raindrops hit my window,

maybe the rain was beautiful.

Maybe it created a watercolor world.

Though I must be conscience and keep

my emotion pallet sorted,

for I do not want a soggy muss of colors.

I began to paint what I saw around me..

and I became happy for once.

Because, after I felt joy the rain ceased,

and in my watercolor world a rainbow appeared.
