Alone and abandoned
A lone survivor

Pulled, punctured, and pricked
Until all the seams were gone

Torn from sanity
And grasped in an iron grip

Held there by manacles
Manacles of life

Ripped into pieces
Burned into ash

Squirm to run free
Locked in a jar

Fight and find pain
Wait in warming flames

Kindle hope
Snuff it out

Close your eyes
And sleep

The author's comments:
Disaster surrounds us and at times we wait in pain. All we want to do is close our eyes and become submerged in darkness.

This makes me remember all the times that we have gone through great grief where we felt trapped and alone in our own cage of misery.

This is my favorite one that you have written. It is dark and grimy but it also has a beautifulness to it. You are an amazing writer!! I love your work.
