You were the sun, lighting my day
chasing the dark far, far away.
You would fill every shadow with golden sunlight
and rid all my fears that arose in the night.
Without you, I starve.
I waste away.
I can't help but wonder,
what if I had stayed?
Could we have been happy?
Hearts fluttering with love.
One of those couples, sappy
and that others speak of.
So I must ask a question,
just one, if that’s okay.
I can tell by your expression
that you weren’t expecting this today.
But did you want me to stay?
