In the mirror
April 25, 2013
in the mirror i see
a reflection of me
a sketch of my face
not a wrinkle is out of place
i look for a feeling of happiness
but that feeling is amiss
i search for a true feeling
one that has an honest meaning
the only feeling that i see
is that sadness within me
the drooping of my eyes
the tear stains of my cries
the tremble of my lips
that feeling at my finger tips
the slow rise and fall of my chest
my breathing is shallow at its best
the beating of my heart
the pain tearing me apart
that is all that is reflected
i am no longer protected
