The question isn't who is going to let me; it's who is going to stop me

Slave to you
Slave to the system
They’ve dumbed down my wisdom.

They’ve put me in a cage

Taught me how to behave

And told me, “Shut Up.”

Ripping away my intellect

With every lie

With every whip

With every slap

With every kick

Push

Shove

Push

Shove
I’m broken
belittled like sand
Small like a pebble
They told me never again.

Sweetie, never again will I hurt you.
Honey, I love you.
Yeah, that’s what they all say.

Push

Shove

Push

Shove
Again and again I’m treated like a slave
Trapped in a cage
Can’t get out

They’ve dumbed down my wisdom.

I wrote this poem in honor of all the women who can't seem to make it out.
