What would you attempt to do if you knew you could not fail? ~Unknown

Like the sun rises over the clear, fresh water,
the idea creeps into my thoughts, settling itself in the sky.
Shallow trickles give life to the bay,
the first small steps to an epic sunset.
The pebbles of words are tossed carelessly into the blue,
some erased and pushed into the cattails, never to be discovered again.
The annoying gulls of doubt pick at my every move,
call out my weaknesses.
Gusts of wind spark the choppy waves;
White caps of success push forward in a new direction.
Currents of failure take me a step back.
But when the end is near,
gentle, rolling tides caress the shore.
The sky is not littered,
the reeds don't rustle.
The water settles, still like glass,
a perfect poem.
