I write to express what I can not say
I try to speak to get the words out of me
They climb up my esophagus attempting to escape
They can't get past my motionless tongue
Writing is my cry to be understood
My cry to be heard in a world full of noise
The words bounce around my head screaming to be released
My mind has been taken hostage with no ransom
It's like a prisoner with a life sentence
It's chained down and they key has been misplaced
Trying to get away from all this confusion
Coming together to form a complete thought
Going from my mind onto a piece of paper.
