Darkness

Shards of shattered dreams surround her feet
Blinded by her own darkness,
She is unable to avoid them
Eaten alive by her own fears and imperfections
All that remains is a shadow
Visible but unnoticed
Lifeless and hidden
A pathetic reflection of something,
Anything
With more meaning
Constantly dying due to the destruction of her only passion
Left alone in the darkest of times
Forced to live her life with a piece of herself missing
With a happiness that lacks a sense of reality
A feeling that is felt with the sense of forbidden nostalgia
She continues
Wandering the dark pathway
Dodging bullets
Uncovering every twist and turn the strange place has to offer
Discovering dreams that are only descent to be shattered
Finding a roads that lead to another heartbreak
She learned to see herself the way others saw her

Great first line. Love how it sets the mood to the entire poem. A sense of regret and darkness. how you detail the memories as if they were shattered glass or something. Very well done. I love the dark feeling to it. I enjoy dark poem here and there. And this is one a phenomenal one to read.
