I want to talk about words
and the impression that the weight of them leaves behind on every ear they reach,
echoing throughout he channels of our head,
repeating
over and over
until we start believing the lies are truth.
I want to talk about words and how each word we say has meaning,
has impact,
for good for bad.
I want to talk about how each word we let slip from our lips is heard and digested and locked in our brains,
chained to our mind,
left to rust for decades until it finally turns to dust with no broom to remove the waste.
I want to talk about silence
and how every beat of it does nothing to erase the words that have been etched.
I want to talk about silence, how it can be louder than we know,
how silence only sits on the words they have been spoken and pushed them further into our souls
I want to talk about words, how they can lift a person up, if only they are spoken.
I want to talk about words and how they can heal those lyrics that have been on repeat since that first person called us fat, ugly, stupid, worthless.
How words can negate a comment said in passing by that has latched onto us.
I want to talk about words, how each word we say has potential to change the world,
not the whole world,
but a world.
