The Bite that Changed Everything

I was bit
and knew my death would never come
the stinging pain
rushed through my arms
I knew I would never meet the man
I always believe in
that lived up above.
Another wrinkle would
never again appear,
but instead
I must watch my loved ones
die
around me.
My skin was pale
the color of the cold snow
which would also,
never gain color.
My love is the only part of me,
still alive.
Turned into the living dead
and would never
return
to the life I once had.
A monster.
A vampire.
