To Think About War

bombs bloom like roses
growing in dust
and soldiers lose faith
in humans and trust
what if god had
more than one name?
and why can't we see
we're all just the same?
our world is crying
screaming in pain
wounded and scared
amongst all the shame
and war doesn't end
when soldiers go home
when mothers and fathers
bury their sons
and we all just want peace
but there's power to gain
dear god when the sun sets
let it please rise again
