I wait to devour your soul.
I am what rips the light right from your eyes.
Souls scream in my darkness,
The silent horror.
Right as rain,
I have you trembling.
What is the method to the madness?
My patience.
The pain is what overwhelms you,
I am what finally takes over you.
I caress your heart with tenderness,
Then rip it out of your chest.
The memories haunt you,
As I consume you.
The pain cuts like a knife,
The memories swarm like bees,
You toss and turn at night,
I am the reason why,
I am the darkness that surrounds you.

I think about the darkness that has surrounded me in my life and I decided to bring myself into the light by getting it out of my system through the art of poetry.
