They say the earth is
Spinning in space
Alone
Whirling away..
I disagree.
It is hanging from a string
Webbed spider silk, shimmering like stardust,
Spun by a great arachnid who
Sits on the moon and makes sure her
Handiwork serves its purpose-
We are sitting atop a giant hourglass
The sand is luminescent and it
Changes color with each passing year-
And we are like a spinning top
Spun by the giant hand of a toddler
Up in space
Cupping a spider in his hand and
Spinning the world on an hourglass
With illuminated sand
That lights up the room
He falls asleep in.
