"Those who restrain desire, do so because theirs is weak enough to be restrained." William Blake

How was I to know?
A love you rarely show?
Should I stay? Should I go?
Here, I’ll leave. But no-
What is it that you owe?
No room for us to grow,
You reap what you sow,
How was I to know-
To take such a painful blow?
Year of the crow-
With coming winds, glow.
In sands, trace a toe.
Map the stars and throw-
A skipping stone, to and fro
Upon sea’s surface, though-
How was I to know-
My words would bite you so?
An accident, I promise oh-
To hear the astounding no.
Get so high, yet feel so low.
Let me take away your woe-
Let me face that weary foe-
Here my sword, here my bow-
Courage heart to stow-
How was I to know-
Mind so weak, so slow?
Too scarred to show?
A love I’ve yet to know?
Caught beneath the undertow.
Dominoes fall, in a row-
Reaping what they sow.
What will you sew?
Torn and frayed
Wounded and played
I wish you would have stayed.
How was I to know-
What would be between us now to grow?
How else can I possibly show?
Your soul I seek to know.
