Can you see me
as I am?
The lonely girl
from across the room?
Do you see
what I’ve done?
How the lonely girl
ss so pretty now?
Have you seen
what she’s become?
Her wicked lips
controlling a bag of bones?

Do you see her?
Do you see me?

Can you talk
to her now?
As her confident eyes
captivate the world?
Would you ask her
to dance now?
The skinny girl
in a sexy dress?
Can you truly
see her now?
The girl who
tore herself apart?

Can you look at her?
Would you care?

Will you come
that morning?
The rainy day
with no tears drawn?
Will you find
her lying there?
With her eyes closed
in an endless sleep?
Will you be there
to tell her the truth?
The truth she never
took time to learn?

Were you ever blind?
Could you always see her?

Will you set a vase
atop her black cage?
The one that will trap
her forever in darkness?
And will you tell her
for me?
That not all flowers
are meant to be seen?
That some flowers
can hide beneath beautifully?
