Touch Not The Heart Of Coal And Ice, For It Shall Taint Thy Soul.

There is nothing quiet like being forced to sit an exam
On the first day of spring.
Having to sit and stare at the same three colours everywhere; white, black and brown.
These are colours of death to me;
These will be the death of me.
I glance backward and peer through
The massive, half-wall window.
The light beyond.
Those skies are a deeper blue
Than ever witnessed
And I never knew how fresh and full grass felt
When spring fell upon us.
There is a single cloud above,
Perfectly content to watch me below
And laugh as the wind freely whisks him where it pleases.
Clouds never have a care in the world.
This god forsaken brown colour;
The desk, window sills, suits
And even the complexion of Mr. Examiner
He could set me free from all this.
He won't, however, I must free myself,
Free from this god damned brown colour.
I must escape this,
Escape this before it affects my soul.
Today, I will have sweet freedom.
Today of days, I will open that door
And we'll fly to the winds content;
Birds and Clouds 'Til Stars Shine Brown.
