If there's a book you really want to read, but it hasn't been written yet, then you must write it. ~Toni Morrison

Writing is easy: All you do is sit staring at a blank sheet of paper until drops of blood form on your forehead. ~Gene Fowler

Am I blue? Any Shade of blue?
Navy, Sapphire, Sky Blue?
You wouldn't know, I wear a mask
To hide the pejorative truth from you.

I walk around; act like have no blemish of that color.
I act according to the social norms.
You might ask but search no further,
For with much time I will be reformed.

Time has passed but, try as I might, the blue tint still lingers
I am ready to accept the truth and be proud?
For some to show support, while others show anger?
For some to run, while others stick around?

I am blue, any shade of blue.
I will wear it proudly as I can
There is no more hiding this beautiful color from you.
Blue, all shades of blue I am

This poem is about me being a Homosexual. Me being Gay. It was inspired by A short story named "AM I Blue?" But this poem is not only about me, it is about many others like me who had to deal with being gay. I feel like it is not my best but it was my life story in a nutshell. I want people to understand that most gay teens have to go through this process and it is hard.
