The Mighty Jungle
Luscious green leaves guarding my path
Bright, colorful birds chirping in the canopy above
Goose bumps up and down my arms
Orange and black flashing by out of the corner of my eye
Monkeys happily swinging from branch to branch; their calls echoing in my head
A jaguar growls as I pass by its hiding spot
Mud squishing between my toes making my bare feet dirty
Cool H2O dripping down onto my skin
Warm sunrays peeking through the wall of leaves above
Colorful butterflies soaring from one vibrant flower to the next
A tiny, seemingly harmless, neon frog relaxing on a cool rock
Sticks breaking almost as soon as I put pressure on them
An anaconda swallowing it’s unlucky prey whole; Poor thing
Rushing water could be heard in the distance
Freedom is so close I can taste it
Cautiously moving a branch covered in thorns out of my way
Rushing clear water flowing in front of me
Flowery meadow taunting me to cross
Freezing water; washing the mud off my toes
Higher and higher it rises
Halfway across with the water waist deep
Rainbow array of flowers coming closer
I’ve arrived at my sanctuary
