Moving On.
It starts with sadness
mixed with anger.
You cry,
and cry,
and cry,
and cry.
Until there's no tears left.
You lose your appetite,
your face breaks out with acne.
You lose interest in school,
friends,
sports,
everything.
Your favorite shows become boring.
You have no motivation to do anything
but eat (barely),
and sleep.
You constantly think of that person,
the one you miss.
You try to remember all the bad memories,
but they're gone.
All you're left with is the good times:
when you kissed,
held hands,
hugged forever,
laughed.
That's all you're able to remember.
It slowly kills you inside,
knowing that you can never have
that again.
You tell your friends the anxiety you have:
the sadness,
the anger.
They pretend to understand.
They tell you that you need to "move on."
That he isn't worth this pain.
That you deserve better.
You try to believe them,
take their advice.
But you can't.
So, for a while, you act like you're okay.
That everything's fine.
You laugh, you smile, you joke.
But your heart cries.
You go places, and EVERYTHING reminds you
of them.
The beach, your car, school, your own house,
a TV show, your couch, your front porch,
the shirt you wore on a date, your music.
You're constantly reminded.
You go home and sleep.
And dream,
Dreaming about what you secretly want to happen:
They come to your house, and apologize.
Saying that they're sorry for
hurting you so much.
But they never do.
And you're beginning to think they never will.
