The dealer and his hand.

We’re all dealt a hand in this crazy card game we call life.
Some hands better than others,
Some just….ok.
Sure we think that our hand is a losing one but when do we stop and think?
Think about us. And what we have.

We have freedom.
We have grace.
We have mercy.
We get to wake up, and go to sleep.
All because of the dealer and his hand.

You know I walked outside this morning.
Took my time and enjoyed my surroundings.
Walking in a field I looked up and sat down.
An old friend of mine called to me in the field.
I stopped by to say hello.

Hello to all the marks.
The falls.
The hits.
The laughs.
….The memories.

And I wonder why?
Why do I hate the hand I’ve been dealt?
I have a good family.
A great girlfriend
Awesome friends
And a place to lay my head at night.

While my friend’s just standing there, tall and mighty.
Like an oak, tall and leafy.
But even he knows that his dealt hand is just right.
Standing outside all day and night.
Giving the birds a home.
And just making the outdoors look so mighty, yet beautiful.

So I say let go.
Let go of your worries about this card game.
Your hand’s not so bad.
You may have only 1 pair of hearts.
But that definitely beats the joker by a mile.

And don’t forget to thank the dealer.
He was nice enough to even deal you that hand.
Thank you.

Life is like a deck of cards. You have to make the most out of what you have.
