The raindrops open my eyes, so
I’ll keep them closed
Shut the lids until the water bursts and they fly away,
Fade to blue with distance

I’ll say I’m happy again,
I’ll say I’m dreaming
I’m sorry I’ve been taken by the other way,
lost in a foreign land

I can make my own mistakes
Forget to put on the brakes
I can take it,
Handle it,
hold it,
In my open palms

Even in the dark
In the empty space, with floating dreams
I won’t tremble
The marrow in my bones,
Still with the hurricane

I can keep the stuffing in
The white fluff is there underneath,
The fraying threads and popping buttons
That only I can see

I’ll always find a way home
At the end of the night
Curl under the warmth knowing I’ll
Run in the white sun or hum a new song
When the morning comes

I love the comforting feeling that poem promises in the end. Well done.
