Dust Motes This work has been published in the Teen Ink monthly print magazine.

I can see a fly hovering
around my desk lamp
I blow hard at the small insect
(watching with satisfaction as it stumbles
in the cold breeze of my breath)
and return to my work.

But when I look back
all I see are dust motes
slowly drifting in the light.

Firstly congratulations on getting published. Secondly, this is simply breath-taking. Though I am confused, isn't breath supposed to be warm ??
