If I Were A Sparrow

I watch the birds from my bedroom window,
the metal panes suppressing
my view,
as they rest on the apple tree branch
such a simple action
such a simple decision
stop
go
fly
rest
if only
I were
a sparrow,
I would fly
far far away
from here.
