i love you not only for what you are but for what i am when i am with you

While my teacher began the lesson
Before we heard the cry
Whenever she sensed our fear, she protected us as time went by
Until our classroom door flung open
A bullet turned this nightmare into reality

As tears stung my eyes
While the screaming continued
Since my teacher protected me
Even though her heart stopped beating
As the screams faded away
I call myself a survivor and remember the eyes of my angel protector

i had to write a poem about the elementary shooting so i decided it was time to put myself into there shoes.(the kids involved i mean) i really don't know the names of the teacher that died or any of the kids . i just know that it was heartbreaking.

“I'd rather see a sermon than hear one any day; I'd rather one should walk with me than merely tell the way: The eye's a better pupil and more willing than the ear, fine counsel is confusing, but example's always clear.” -Edgar Guest

It is indeed heartbreaking. This is good, especially the first half. I admire someone who can write from another's point of view, it isnt a skill that comes easy with me.
