Some days are just a haze,
One cloudy dream to the next,
And all you keep telling yourself is
Wake up

Smell the roses,
Drink some coffee,
look at the world around you,
Wake up!

Someone grabs you by the shoulders,
Shakes you hard,
A slap against your cheek,
Screaming in your face,
Begging you,
To just wake up

But you can't. You can't shake the fog,
The haze still hangs in the air.
You think you may be awake,
But you're not.
Are you dreaming,
Or is this really happening?
Wake up

How can one truly wake up?
See the life he's missing,
See the life he could of had,
See the things he could of been great at,
See his failures, his accomplishments,
The broken pieces of his life,
Wake up

But instead life goes round and round,
In endless circles,
One after another,
An endless loop,
Circling back around,
Just to make you wish,
You could wake up

Wow, thank you. I've never really been able to get positive feedback on my writing other than short stories. This means a lot and I'm glad to see someone else shares my views

I love this and agree with you 100% I live by the motto, leave no regrets, because at the end of my life I don't want to have a long list of things I wish I should have done. Yes, I think that most people don't reach their full potential because they don't believe in themselves, don't believe they can do everything they want. But some days, you're just feeling down and tired and don't feel like trying to make a difference that day. I love the idea to "wake up" because that's exactly it! Wake up from your lazy dream, filled with doubts and negativity! Life is limited only to your ability to live within it! You get what you put in, you can blame NO ONE for your problems or if you think you have a sucky life. Nobody does. It's their perspective of life that is sucky. Anyways, sorry I wrote a lot, I just think about this all the time and am so happy to see that someone else shares my opinion and is ale to put it in fantastic writing!
