Last Breath
She took the bottle and swallowed every last pill
She laid her head down on her silk pillow
She took deep breaths as the pills went to work
Every feeling in her body was masked by the pills
Her eye lids grew heavy and her breath started to draw
She drifts off to sleep as she takes her last breath
She whispers “goodbye” to a world that doesn’t care
A tear begins to fall as her eyes close forever
