I Have Seen
I have seen them,
Grim reapers who lead the blind
They who keep us all from seeing the light
They who force us away from what we need
I have seen them,
They who follow blindly
Hoping to be led never knowing where they go
Those many, who follow only what others have fooled them into wanting
I have seen them,
And when I do,
I weep
When I do,
I try to help
But am I any better?
Then those False Prophets
Who lead the blind when they themselves
Are far blinder
I have seen them,
Those fishers of the light
They that protect the blind that they lead
From any want they might confuse with need
I have seen them,
With eyes that are blind
I have seen them,
With hopes rather than needs
For I am no better than the blind,
I am no fitter to lead
Than those Grim Reapers
I may try to be,
But the more I try
The further I stray
For I need to be led
For I too am blind.
