I walked along in silence, but not just any silence,
the silence of the snow.
The snow holds mysteries and secrets.
When it snows, it becomes silent- so silent that you can hear yourself blink.
And this silence is beautiful,
one of the most beautiful things in the world.
When the wind blows the snow around,
the mysteries twirl around you in an array of magic.
People in this world seem far to busy,
they do not even take time to “smell the roses.”
But I am telling you that there is so much more in this world than roses.
One needs to simply take time to notice true beauty in this world.
The abandoned, ramshackled barn that stands against the endless sky,
Its boards that were once sturdy and stable;
the oldness of it that makes it mysterious and beautiful.
The fields of dead crops that rustle from the wind
and sway in the day light, while the rays burst through them,
and make them a beautiful color.
Even fields of healthy, bright and luscious grass
that flows like the waves of the ocean.
And the creaky old windmill
that continues to spin eerily,
even though it was abandoned years ago.
A windmill that stands alone,
taking in all the beauty it deserves,
but still going unnoticed.
The gray sky, looking as if it has been stirred
by a spoon, so that it twists and turns and flows in every
direction, complimenting everything that it sits behind.
The day does not have to be sunny to be beautiful or perfect.
A perfect day could be a cold day, where the sky is gray
and everything dead. But this day has a certain feel,
it has a feel of romance, mystery, and magic.
The day could also be rainy.
I do believe that the smell of rain
is just about the most beautiful smell.
It just smells like beauty,
and is too wonderful for words.
Then, when it does rain,
everything is better.
Some people may not notice the grace that the thunder carries,
or the bright, luminous magnificence that lightning has.
The lightning lights up the sky, and everything is more beautiful.
Trees are indescribably beautiful.
Their beauty is unique, especially the broken and crooked ones.
Crooked trees especially go unnoticed.
They are looked over, because they are considered
Imperfect or unbeautiful, but I say, those trees are quite beautiful.
A forest! So dark and mysterious,
but so beautiful and wondrous.
The trees dangle over, and mystify you.
You are enclosed in such beauty; it takes your breath away.
And when there is snow, it may be silent, so silent that you can hear the trees whisper to you.
The night sky, so commonly overlooked.
How the stars are endless, and they glisten so brightly.
There are so many shapes and sizes, even though we cannot tell.
And even everything outside the Earth.
Things do not have to be on this Earth to be beautiful.
Just thinking about the depths of space,
and all the planets and galaxies gives me butterflies.
Fog goes highly unappreciated.
Fog is one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen.
How it overtakes everything around it,
and gives it a mysterious quality.
It can engulf trees, and even people.
It is so beautiful the way it is carried along the ground by the wind.
Sometimes, I just simply want to dive into its beauty.
Smoke is immensely lovely.
Its beauty can catch an eye of anyone.
When it rises after a flame has been extinguished,
it moves with such elegance and beauty.
It is thick in some parts, but thin in others,
and it dances through the air, but then disappears.
It is the simple things that are beautiful.
Such as a smile, smiles go a long way.
They may brighten up the worst of days.
Smiles are unique to each person,
and loved by others.
The beauty of hugs.
How two people can become one.
How they can embrace each other so tight and know the other person.
Hugs can also cure sadness;
how someone can take another's pain away by a simple hug.
They are used to celebrate as well-
two immensely happy people sharing their joy together.
Hugs are beautiful things and should be highly appreciated.
The wind blew, snowflakes twirled and danced around.
and I was one in a world of unnoticed beauty-
and there was silence.
The silence of the snow.
