You changed my life, you gave me hope, you lent me love,
You forever changed me.
I close my eyes and there you are, with that wonderful smile of yours.
I tune out noise and I hear your laugh, the glorious sound you make.
I lose my grip on reality, you hand it back to me.
You forever changed me.
I was alone, you were there.
I was lost, you brought a map.
I was missing a piece, you fit perfectly.
You forever changed me.

The author's comments:
I wrote this poem in honor of two wonderful teachers. These two women have made an enormous impact in my life. There are days, where the only bright spot is speaking to one of these wonderful women. They have taught me that I need to show the world what I am like in the inside, instead of just letting people see what is on the outside.
