How can I tell you who I am?
Is it by the way I dress
Or possibly the way I speak
Could I define who I am by my shoes
The way my heels skim the pavement
When I’m as happy as a summer sunset

Or
Is it the way I tear when I’m angry
Am I destined to be where I’m from
Does my accent whisper secrets of my past
Am I who I am today
Because of my past
or because of the way you have defined me
