frozen fingers cascading down the sky
along the sidewalk, the bones crackle beneath my feet
black light pours from the great fissure up above
today: Death I Shall Meet.

Faded legal tender, with a tear halfway
down the face of our dearly departed president
the artist, she snatches at the crumple hungrily
before she bares herself; naked to all
used so that I can sell my company to the easily amused

the Junkie chokes down copious amounts of chicken nuggets,
hot dogs, po-ta-to chips hooked on my store-bought jingle
Watching the naked artist shake her booty before chugging
a can of soda, you should be like her, you should drink too.

I tried to put a mirror in your path, but it shattered to pieces;
the messenger too afraid to relay to the receiver, what It had
seen, or rather what it had not seen: the sincerity of your smile,
the curiosity stick you were so accustomed to poking in the eye of the unknown,
the warm color of your cheeks. instead an emaciated abdomen ribs stabbing outward
about to tear through your tissue-thin skin, gaunt cheeks bleached teeth and pasty
clear face, red lipstick, long eyelashes, fake complexion Hollow Perfection.

the fault is mine, my greed has corrupted you,
I must pay the price for murdering the innocent.
As blinding flashes on the horizon grow more frequent,
the final storm brews.
Death has handed me my due chains and I gladly fasten them around my neck.
I must leave now, the sky has turned red, the air to dust,
perhaps after my departure the damage may be undone
tho it seems unlikely for my deeds are as disastrous as they are far reaching
dehumanizing the human, what remains?
now millions of razors spin in whirls of wind
shredding whatever lie in their path: me
I now must walk into this snowfall, this blizzard, never to return.
