Why does a blue jay sing
Sing so carelessly and free
Why does a baby cry
Cry so sweet and innocent
Why does a caged animal not lie down
Not lie down to be defeated
Why does the sun paint a picture
A picture of warm, golden dreams
Why does the wind sway
Sway to an invisible song known only to the land
Why is the spirit of joy so free
Free to inflict happy moments and reckless adventures
Why, tell me why, does the lion not lie down
