My Angel

Her scrapbook sits upon her desk
The memories still in his mind
Their time together was the best

Together for only a year
But forever connected
He loved her with all her heart
His love she never rejected

But he sits alone now
Wasting the day away
Drinking in the dark
Keeping his tears at bay

It washes away the pain
Just like sadness in the rain
He’s sure to chase it with the Coke
The pain in his heart begins to stoke

It hurts more and more
As he looks at her face
He tried to help her, but
She’s meant in another place

She was his whole world
But it came crashing down
The day they got the news
The one that turned her beautiful smile
Around

She was told she had three months
So she did all she could
She visited everywhere she dreamt
Did all the things that she empt

Flipping through the pages,
He can feel the wind in his face
Remembering there time travelling
Just being in the presence of her grace

Going down memory lane
Still puts a tear in his eye
She left so quickly
He wasn’t able to say goodbye

That’s the thing that hurts him the most
All he wanted was to hold her hand,
Tell her everything is alright
Let the pain go
And walk towards the light
