Ghost

Lying on
creaking wood panels,
spreading like a
warning chill.
Lost in a thought
abandoned
by a skill-less mind.
Frozen in time.
She arises as he
returns,
awakening at the sound
of a single heart
beat.
Her focus beads on
his brow.
Ten years
she laid
there
alone in that house.
Webs
flossing her teeth,
fading month by month.
He looks about
his cheeks
so
alive
with color.
He signs the deed
and
now
she, breathless
sighs.
He stole her home
he stoked her
air-less
fire.
The house quakes
mice giggle
as she stretches
her palm out
in
silent
revenge.
