It seemed he was using me,
But he opened my eyes so I could see.
It felt like I was his tool,
And made me feel like a fool.
He will be sorry someday,
I will leave him in dismay.

For he will come back,
Trying to unpack.
But I won't let him in,
I will leave with a grin.
He will know what he has done,
Trying to take back his action.

But it is to late now,
For I have taken a vow.
And this vow is unbreakable,
It says to not be blissful.
I had many dreams with him,
But he brought me to the brim.

He longs to bring me in his arms again,
But I have already said amen.
He doesn't understand,
Why I choose to not demand.
But someday he will,
And he'll know my goodwill.

I have already moved on,
Ever since the dawn.
We held to each other,
But he tore through my armor.
He took me and made me weak,
He left me and I started to shriek.

Things will never be clear again,
But I am now ready to unbend.
It will never be the same between us,
For it all turned me to dust.
I will never trust him again,
We won't make new amends.

I wrote this after a guy broke my heart. It is one of my favorite poems and means a lot to me.
