"Sometimes the heart sees what is invisible to the eye."

Laying on the lush grass,
Eyes trained on the never ending blue,
The sound of rushing water disturbs my peace.
Looking for the source,
My feet take me to a small forest
Filled with evergreen trees.
I push away two barricading branches
And the sight makes me weak.
A cascading waterfall causes mist around a pond
That is surrounded by tall, green arches.
Vibrant red flowers dot the grass
And butterflies chased each other.
Light shined through the leaves
And suddenly, a shape forms.
From the light , out comes
Two pure creatures that looked at me with cool disinterest.
Their bright, white coat blinded me
And they bent down to drink from the blue lagoon.
The mother keeps her dark eyes on me
And the foal drinks without care.
They stood up, their horns dripping with water,
And the foal comes up, curiosity showing.
I raised my hand, awestruck at the shimmering animal.
Before I could reach the innocence, a shot rang out
And the two reared back and ran.
I followed them, their image still fresh
And as they reached the edge of the forest,
One final shot sounded
And the foal fell,
A red torrent flowing from its dirtied body.
The mother froze and looked at me,
Devastation as her countenance.
As I reached out a comforting hand to her,
She vanished into the light, the dead following.
The forest is calm again
And a voice rings out.
“The cruelty of Humans
Have destroyed the beauty of the World.”
It echoes and my heart stops
For deep down, I knew it was true.
The innocence of the Earth
Has been corrupted by the evil of humanity.

We are destroying Mother Nature. Not as individuals, but as a unit. The earth is deteriorating and we need to help it.
