Take charge you tell me.
Take control of your life you say to me
but how.
How when all the determination I have falls right through me
like I'm empty.
How when my courage builds and builds like
a tower made of building blocks, then falls
when the people around me kick it with all their negativity
and all their doubt.
You have the strength you tell me
Don't let people tell you "You Can't" you say to me
But how when I don't believe in that strength
that you say is deep down in my heart
because it is buried by my fear and constant hurt
