Your lips are like wine, and I want to get drunk. -William Shakespeare.

The Earth stood cold, silent, still.
The leaves are in a trance, where none must move.
The air, that once danced with such grace..

Gone.

The creatures that roamed my backyard are now hidden and scared.
The water, once so talkative and alive, now silenced and dry.

The eyes you've seen these with, now silenced but dark.
You've lost your perception, you've lost your way.

The author's comments:
What inspired me was that I was sitting in my backyard looking at what surrounded me and I came to realize that not much of nature is being able to thrive in today's society and how things are. I also realized how the people are changing and everything is becoming so dull and surrounded by working that people are losing their perception towards life.

I thought that's it was a great poem. It had lots of feel to it, but not enough emotion... If you know what I mean:) Good Job!
