I wrote a note about love and fear
About losing what I hold dear
But you threw it away
And went about your day

I wrote a story about hope and freedom
About a flowery field in a golden kingdom
But you laughed at my fantasies
And ridiculed my optimistic mentality

I wrote a letter about the world around me
And how I wish it ought to be
But you ripped in two
And said I had no clue

I wrote a poem about glitters and gold
Worldly things that was foretold
You said it was art
And placed it in your heart

It was then I learned how to please you
It was simple enough, nothing brand new
I should mold into society
Banishing individuality

Isn’t that what you wish?
For me to have no real niche?
To be a body with no face
To be face with no name
