By Myself: One does not grow from discovery, but from understanding.

One day
I will pray
With my brothers and sisters
In a public place
And we will not be disturbed
One day
I will be able to say
God is great
Allahhoakbar
And not be disturbed
One day
I will be excused from class
to pray to my lord
Undisturbed
Ladies and Gentlemen
Christians
Jews
Muslims
Will live together
They do in fact now
But without true assimilation
Assimilation that does not
obscure the views of others
But inspects them
Studies them
Understands them
For the sake of understanding
Not for disproving
One day
My children will not be afraid to pray in an airport
As I am
One day
I will pray in public
I will say the call to prayer
And not be disturbed
Because now
I cannot pray in public
Undisturbed
I cannot say God is great
Undisturbed
I cannot study another belief
Undisturbed
One day
I will return home
and live there
Undisturbed
One day
I will go home
To the green fields of Palestine
Undisturbed
One day
Muslims
Arabs
All of those discriminated
Will live
Undisturbed
One day
There will be peace
In America
China
Russia
Europe
Africa
In the Middle East
One day
There will be peace
In the Middle East

And I will pray my morning prayer
In public
In an airport
And I will board the plane
Undisturbed and without being
“spot checked”
A suspect
A terrorist
And I will fly home
And I will land
Pray my afternoon prayer
and I will be
Undisturbed

Takbear!
