How foolish am I
to love you still?
Forget me darling,
I know you will.
At present midnight my hope grows weak
For in a strange bed I know you sleep
in my protection I devised
my hearts breaking and my demise
the night grows darker as it goes on
every moment proves you farther gone
the tears come streaming one by one
from the ghosts of my past I try to run
Can I find solace without you?
will I beforever bruised?
I cannot find any rest
with you had I really been so blessed?
Eyes so kind and words so true
a more loving man I never knew
but fate blew in just like a thief
stole you away, to me only grief
time was hard on your soft eyes
your words of love became your lies
how could you love just one girl
when longed to see the world
You believed my love to be nothing more
than the lies you had heard before
You're soul was cold in a heart of stone
but still you couldn't leave me alone
I had to push you out the door
you weren't the man I'd loved before
my love for you did not end,
but I could never be your friend
How could I kiss you one more time
and know your heart was never mine
your family and past I tried to blame,
for I could never harm your name
you still know me better than the rest
is this love being put to the test?
Oh my, what is love?
Is it man made or sent from above?
When your lover's words turn the sun to rain
do you love them amidst all the pain?

This was just a poem that is partly from my past, but also part of the past of a dear friend of mine.
