The man walked in
Suited up in mint green scrubs,
He was tall.
I just lay there limp,
Not really wanting to move at all.

Insensible from the gas,
My eyes tracing the wall,
Difficult to focus on one thing,
But impossible to take in it all.

His mouth moving,
But no words coming out.
I was in another world.
Somewhere else, no doubt.

A spinning ceiling
With steady walls.
Dropped scissors, needles, and pliers that made
No noise at all.

I knew I was awake,
But felt as if I should be sleeping.
It was all a blur.
Looking but not seeing.
