Glistening like sapphire jewels,
The ocean waves lap against the shore.
As the current rushes to greet me,
The thick, muddy sand collects
And nestles between my feet,
Tickling my toes and welcoming me,
The distant cries of starving seagulls echo in my ear,
Pulling me deeper into the water.
I lope safely back to the shore,
Watching the roaring waves roll toward me,
Escaping the magically strong undertow.
Anticipation fills my soul.

Vivid imagery and great use of metaphors.  I liked the expressive nature of the poem.  Made me feel like I was on the beach.
