Her green and blue waters smile up at me
She teases me with her gentle rippling laughter 
In the heat of summer she holds me safe in her clutch
And in the bitter winter she is strong beneath me
She is kind and familiar 
Beautiful and soft 
I know her and she knows me 
The lake
