Because, because

The moment I saw you, I knew I was doomed
Because, because
Your eyes, they were full of laughter
Your mouth, it was smiling
Your hands, they beckoned me to come closer
Because, because
it all seemed so perfect
But now I've realized that
it was all wrong.
Your eyes were not full of laughter but of
Nervous excitement
Excited to own me.
And I've mistaken the depth for
Shallowness
Because, because
I was blinded by what I thought was love
Your mouth, it was smiling
But not the cheerful smiling
It was all for pretend,
All of it was
Fake.
Your hands, they yearned to hug,
To touch
But only for a second,
Because, because,
You didn't truly love me.
And I was blinded by what I thought was love
How stupid of me to fall for
You.
To let my happiness be
Governed, controlled
By you.
And so I will not spare another glance at you.
Because, because.

There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.

Easily relatable and beautifully written, I can feel exactly what you went through.

The repetition really makes this poem stand out. Even though many people have written about a broken relationship, you have made this one unique and interesting all on its own. Great Job!
