cover up your sadness
with the dust on the ground
it'll blow away soon.
don't make a fuss
you can hide in the trees,
peer through the leaves.
soon they will fall,
gently.
blowing away
just like everything else
gone.
it's not cold enough
for snow
so the rain keeps
slipping through the stars.
you love the way
it pierces
your skin
because you can feel
its bitterness
and you understand.
or try to.
you don't have
much time,
for the clouds are fading
and the sun is shining.
its rays warm your cheeks,
but your heart stays cold.
